Being French here is what I can tell you about Zidane :
- best player France ever had and will have for some time.
- he is still in the top 3 of French famous people French loves the best. His image hasn't been ruined by the world cup.
- when he went last year for the 1st time in Algeria ( his dad was born there ) he was recieved as an embassador and a hero.
- helps a lot different fundations, make huge donations.
A great man.

Zinedine Zidane is the retired French football player. his last appearance was in the 2006 FIFA World Cup final in GERMANY where he was sent off for headbutting Marco Materazzi of ITALY.
he has won the FIFA World Player Of The Year three times in 1998, 2000 & 2003. once of the best midfielder in the world, he scored the spectacular goal in the 2002 UEFA Champions' League final against Bayer 04 Leverkusen to secure the 9th European Cup for Real Madrid CF.

Zidane is known to be one of the greatest or was the greatest till he retired this year after capping of his career in style. Ronaldinho is so called awsome but he is trash. Zidane rules the field.

From what I have seen, he is a great football player and a legend in France. He seems like a really decent person, too. Judging from his behaviour after the little incident at the World Cup, he seemed really embarrassed by it. He seemed legitimately concerned by how fans and especially children would perceive him. Such a disappointing way for a fella like him to have to go out.

Know him;think he's a good player;overrated and talked about way toooooooooooo much. Let him go into retirement;ashame he made a fool of himself in the World Cup Final -- UNFORGIVABLE.

zizou is simply brilliant!! u can never get tired of watching him on the field. he's the mastermind of the team, country or club. a magician, one of the great footballer of all time. i miss him now.. i wish he keeps on playing but, that's his decision. he's still the best!!
