I suffer from this problem as well and I HATE IT!!! I was wondering if anyone has figured out a way to prevent or lessen the diarrhea during that time of the month. Do you eat certain foods and avoid other foods? Medications? Herbs? I feel like I can't function for 3 or 4 days a month because of this problem. I appreciate any help that anyone can suggest. (I have an appt with my OB/GYN on January 11)

This happens because your uterus has contractions in order to get out the ''products''of our period, and this affects the neighboring organs stomach, bowels etc. , so they overwork. I have the same problem; Just avoid eating lots of green vegetables when you expect your period( 1-2 days before) and drink lots of strong black tea (with / without sugar).
I hope I helped. Happy New Year!

Yes, this is terrible. I have the same problem. My stomach makes all kinds of noises and then the dreaded feeling of diarrhea comes. Its bad enough you are bleeding like a stuffed pig, but have to have diarrhea too. yuck. I don't have an remedies for it. I usually just take Pepto Bismol, helps a little bit.

Ugh, yes..the dreaded diarrhea during the monthly cycle. I always get that during my period too. But I've been avoid dairy and also avoid consuming a lot of chocolate(although it is tempting) during my period. I've noticed that that helps a lot.

I've learned to stay away from dairy when I have my period. It seems to make everything worse. You could also try anti-diarrhea pills.

i would suggest eating a lot of foods with fiber days before your period so that your body doesn't have as much to expel.
