Why should we have federally funded national health care for
everyone? So we can then try to get out of it like Canada is
trying now? Didn't think so.
Progress comes from freedom. Allowing free marketplace in the
health care is a good idea.

All the data shows conclusively that countries with Universal health care come in ahead of the States in virtually every single category.
Universal health care is cheaper and more effective. The U.S. pays way more per capita for health care and gets substantially worse results. What americans pay in insurance premiums is far higher than what Canadians, for instance, pay in increased taxes for health care. And for more than 30 million Americans there is no insurance coverage at all. Many more millions of Americans are woofully under-insured.
The only people who benefit from the American health care system are pharmeucutical companies, the medical industry, insurance companies and the richest 5% of Americans.

There has never been a workable plan for government funding of such a noble scheme... and none worldwide has been a success to date, but follow THIS bouncing ball: Why, with all their goodness, mercy, forgiveness, and MASSIVE wealth, don't the churches in this country have free clinics staffed by volunteer doctors, nurses, and dentists? It is a moral crime in this country that a simple set of dentures cost over $5000, it costs a $125 office call for a prescription for cough medicine that really works..

Yes, they should model it after the VA health care system. It is one of the best in the world. They negotiate on the drug prices to keep them low and they have the latest technology. Many people become Doctors and Lawyers not because they want to do the right thing for human kind but because it'll make them rich.

no. people who are in support of this don't really understand how this will be paid for. also, do you really want government handling something as important as healthcare? try to get a drivers license and see how messed up that is... i can only imagine what it would take to get your tonsils taken out.

No, I don't. I think a better idea would be making it mandatory for people to have health insurance. Of course there would need to be a provision to subsidize those who cannot afford the premiums. I believe that many doctors would choose to leave the field of medicine if their only option was to be a government employee. Mandatory insurance seems to be working well in the state of Massachussetts.

It's a failure in every other country.
The well to do all come here for health care treatment.
John Edwards, shyster lawyer, implies that it will be FREE TO EVERYONE.
(He doesn't know that all the Government's money comes from working people that pay taxes.)

Yes I do, I think every citizen should be entitled to healthcare. When you see other countries with socialized medicine, most of their citizens are healthy.
