Is it safe for them to have a spaceball?would they even use it?

It is NOT safe for them, Theo they do used them(If there an active guinea pig) but it can hurt there back in the future which can result in back problems, because that happen to my guinea pig, after that happened we found out by reading in books,looking up on the web that it is NOT safe for them. Trust me on this one.

No, no and NO. Someone suggested a harness instead of the space ball which is also a no. First off the spaceball could make them break their back and hurts their paws. Guinea pigs can easily slip out of a harness and it isn't comfortable for them. Why not take your piggy into a room that has a door so you can close it and keep him safe. Make sure there isn't any wires or anything else dangerous that he/she can chew on. Pretty much make it piggy safe. Please check out these sites.

Well I have a guinea pig, and mine doesn't run in a "Spaceball" but all guinea pigs are different. I don't think it is all that safe.

i bought a space ball for my Guinea pig. when i put him inside it, his toe nails went through the little holes and it looked a little uncomfortable for him, he didn't run at all either. he just kinda, sat there. heh heh..actually after ten minutes i kicked it down the hall, it gave him a little shock but it still didnt get him running! i would say a space ball is a waste of money for a Guinea pig, they simply arnt meant for it. rabbits & hamsters love them however. hope this helps!
ps: my gunea loved burrowing tho, spread a blanket on the floor & make little tunnels for him to run in, im sure he'll love it becuase gunea pigs like the dark & naturaly live in tunells in the wild. :D

NO no i have 5 and mine all hate it to death and when i put on one of those space ball things they woulds not stop squeaking and they would not come out of the space ball and besides well it depends on how big it is and they might get stuck in it so i suggest a no because would you want yours to get hurt well anyway i hope you make a good choice!! ~Brittany~

As long as it's big enough for them and not around stairs!!! It is good exercise for them. May not move a lot at first try to get it to follow food to start rolling, once it knows it can move, it will like it. Just keep it away from areas it could fall from like stairs.

They aren't entirely safe. You may want to consider getting hima harness and walking him around your home, or outside with that :)

oh yeah it fine and yes they would use. make sure there are breathing holes though!
