There are so many different answers for this. Mainly it has to do with maturity and how well you handle the makeup without looking like a clown. I started wearing mascara and lip gloss at 13 and after a few years of getting the hang of it, gradually went up to makeup other than mascara and gloss.

well i am not sure but i think it is when you are about 21 and out of school. i used makeup when i was your age and got kicked off the football team. really, i suggest only use a lip gloss at most and don't put the goo on your face. might as well get a pop-on red nose and a yellow wig and paint your face up like a circus clown.

Junior high - start with lip gloss and maybe some light blush. Work up from there - applying makeup takes time to perfect - especially mascara, so don't be in a rush.

My mom didnt let me wear makeup till I was 16, that was my birthday present, she went and bought me makeup. I guess it depends on the trust you ahve, cause i know if she would have let me have it at a younger age, i would have been playing with it and school and probably looked like a clown. As for my sister, she is 12 and my mom lets her put it on, cause shes a little more responsible. ha

I think when they start high school. I believe less is more. Maybe some mascara, and lip gloss with a little color. Nothing dramatic like blush, and foundation unless she has blemishes or marks she would like to cover up but a little of that applied with a brush wouldn't be bad.
