It evolves from the new "Theory of Everything" and the growing field of quantum physics. Gravity in our universe is extremely weak. Theorists claim that the gravity as we know it is merely a trickle down effect of a much stronger gravity force in the 11th dimension.

Google information about Supersymmetry. A good book about it is called 'Supersymmetry' by Gordon Kane. Supersymmetry is a fairly new theory that allows the four forces to be combines into a Unified Theory, or The Theory of Everything. It allows String Theory, Newtonian Physics, Einstein Physics, Quantum Physics, and Higgs Physics to co-exist. In order for this theory to work, it defines 11 dimentions. So far, no one can disprove it. What part of the Theory says is at the Big Bang, the universe was suppersymmetrical. There was matter and anti-matter - energy and anti-energy. We happen to have ended up with most of the matter in our world. Theory says the anti-matter ended up in another dimention. Universe models today don't explain the lack of gravity to keep the universe from expanding. Supersymmetry says a lot of the gravity ended up in yet another dimention. When you add all the positives and all the negatives of all the dimentions you end up with a 'Big Fat Zero", just like there was an instant before the Big Bang.
