I think that Starbucks does not want a drive through because the want it to seem as though their superior to fast food or Dunkin Donuts. Or maybe the want the Starbucks to feel more local. So that people don't think of it as Processed, premade coffee.

We have some with and some without. I think that they normally will have a drive thru if the location has the possibility for it. The drive thrus here are always full of cars.

There's one down the street from me that does.
The company now has drive-throughs in every state but Vermont and Wyoming. Internationally, Canada has 35, there are nine in Japan, four in Mexico and one each in Puerto Rico and Indonesia.

So you can smell the goodies and order with your stomach instead of your eyes and brain when you read the drive thru menu. The tummy is less likely to be thrifty. You'll be tempted and spend more.

Good question! And I see from some of the answers that they "do" exist. Can't wait to see them in my area.

Some do--look around and when you go to one next time--ask them about it--I won't go to them again personally.
