Most cell phone providers allow you to upgrade & buy a new phone at a discounted price within 90 days of the end of the contract. You can also just buy a phone straight out & have it activated but it will cost you a couple hundred dollars.

If you can't upgrade & don't want to wait I would suggest going on ebay and looking for phones. BUT you HAVE to make sure its a cingular phone because all cell phone services do not run on the same network & some won't work with cingular service.

Hi Hanna

Yes you can, there are a couple of ways that you can do this
1) If you are Eligible for an upgrade, you can get a discounted phone from Cingular (this will extend your contrct)
2) You can by a Phone fron a Cingular store at full retail price
3) Purchase a new phone off Ebay (my recomendation) You can get a great prices and a big choice of models. Just make sure the phone you choose is A GSM with 850/1900 Mhz listed. If its not a Cingular branded phone make sure it is listed as unlocked. Pop the sim card in and you are good to go. You dont even have to tell Cingular you have a new phone
Cheers

You should read your contract to see what the specific terms and conditions are. The contracts are rarely exclusive, meaning you could get phone service from another provider before the contract is up. You would continue paying your monthly service charge on Cingular until your contract is up, or you can pay the early termination fee.

I normally wait for the contract to be up before switching carriers. That allows me to take my phone number with me to the new carrier. I've continued with my provider because most of the people I called are on the same provider and I get unlimited minutes to them included in my plan.

purchase the telephone, in case you pay comprehensive fee it does not impact your settlement in any respect except...you purchase an i-telephone, then you definately might ought to get a clean settlement. This an Apple requirement for the contract with cingular, now the hot at&t. in case you pay under comprehensive fee ($two hundred.00-$800.00) for a telephone from a affordable LG to a Blackberry you will enter a clean settlement and that relies upon on the low-priced. pay attention $two hundred.00 is the main inexpensive you will detect a clean telephone without a clean settlement. make useful that if the telephone is insurable pay for it...in case you do no longer you're able to finally end up figuring out to purchase and buyng back.
