The lawyer's name is Curtis Doebbler and he should be allowed to come back because even though he is a liberal scumbag with a twisted perception of reality, he has not broken any law.

Yes, I think he should be. After all having the right to a lawyer is a fundamental right that Americans have. He went over there knowing that Sadaam had no chance of getting off, and he put his life in danger to ensure Sadaam got a fair trial. This is as American as you can get. After all even O.J. Simpson was entitled to a fair trial.

If I were a lawyer, I would have chosen to NOT represent Sadaam, true enough. But, basically a lawyer is there to make sure that the court treats his client right; he doesn't necessarily agree with what the client did or even believe in his innocence.

What about Stephen Jones? He defended Timothy McVeigh. He is an American. Because someone defends someone in the name of justice does not mean that they are unamerican.

It is a very American thing to do:

John Adams volunteered to defend the British Army men who were accused in the Boston Massacre, and did a pretty good job of making the jury unsure about what actually happened, to the benefit of his clients.

It is more American to allow anyone the best possible defense. We must never forget by our standards presented in the U.S. Constitution, One is innocent until proven guilty, justice was served, the truth was examined and the sentence carried out. what is so un-American about that.

He's certainly a very disturbed kook and publicity hound, but we DO live in a free society, and we do not discriminate against crazy and/or evil people. Sigh..., it's not always easy being a free country...
