Why or why not? I read a Christopher Hichens acticle in Vanity Fair that made the claim that women aren't funny until they get to be older, due to the way they are wired for reproduction.
He claimed that men are funny solely to get the attention of females in order to reproduce. So according to him all humor comes down to sex.
What do you think?

OMGosh how sexist is that?? lol I don't know about you but i've seen more "class clown" girls in my daughter's classes these last 5 years (as a volunteer I "hang" w/the classes sometimes all day) then I've seen boys.
I think mainly you just see more men "out there" later in life standing up on stage wether they are good or not. Women tend to hone (sp?) the craft then go out there...notice how many men fail at it then the women?

i imagine this is extra significant to have a superb humorousness, so that you'll laugh by the strong (and troublesome) cases! inspite of the indisputable fact that, being humorous is continually a plus! my husband is between the funniest human beings i understand, and it change right into a significant charm when we began relationship.

i think women may seem as less funny sometimes because usually females are shyer than males. if every girl were to be as confident and extraverted as most men, and not worry about what they look like as much, i think they'd seem to be humorous too.

I think that men, generally speaking, are funnier - men's humour seems to be based on making fun of others and things , women seem to make fun of themselves more. I think Christopher Hitchens is talking rubbish though.

Well??????????Most women I've met in my life have said that they are drawn to men with the best sense of humour. So you work it out............the women like a sense of humour.....men want to get their attention for ?sex? - companionship - whatever - if it is what they want I'll give it to them as will most men.
