No. I still believe in the freebie. Last year I got off on thinking of free gifts (My sister had zero money for Christmas) that my sister could give to people (e.g. Dunkin Donuts calendar with coupons) and I started saving and wrapping "free stuff" that January for gift giving this year.

But, aha, if you are not talking the material then you are right...you do something for someone, they give you something....you owe. Remember the Seinfeld episode where Jerry got a free suit.....
