We can’t be as strong as Superman physically, but we can be as strong as Superman morally. We must make up our minds to always be honest, good to everybody, brave… it starts to sound like a Boy Scout.
But, isn’t that what Lois called Clark when they first met? She laughed at him because he was a genuinely good guy in a dog-eat-dog world. But over time, she fell in love with Clark, and that is why she was content to marry him and not worry and wonder if she could ever get Superman.
It isn’t power that makes him Superman—it’s his moral goodness. There are plenty of guys in the comics who have powers and strength, but they are nasty, selfish, cruel and mean. That’s what makes them bad guys! It isn’t the powers. Luthor has no super powers, but he is one of the baddest bad guys.
Even when Superman lost his powers, he was still a good guy. And that’s the kind of power that nobody can take away from you.
You’ve heard it said that ‘Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. “ But it follows that “Holiness empowers, and absolute holiness empowers absolutely.” Holiness seems like an old-fashioned concept, but what else combines goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, purity, self-control, all in one package…? So I think holiness is a good word to use.
If you want to be a Superman, begin from the inside— if there is anything that is true, noble, pure, peaceful, honest, beautiful, patient, generous, caring—dwell on those things. Make them a part of you. Soon, you will find yourself able to resist evil in ways you have never dreamed.

Impossible. But, if you eat spinach you will be strong as Popeye. Or if you get mad you will turn green and be as strong as the Hulk. Or if you get bitten by a radioactive spider you will be as strong as Spider-Man.
