If he was with a 17 year old and I was a juror he wouldn't get convicted. Now a 7 year old is a different story.

Your son can hang around anyone he wants, it's if he is going to be involved in sexual activity with a minor or in activities that are illegal that he has to be careful. Being as he is the "adult", he will more then likely get into the most trouble if they are caught. But if you know him like you say you do, and he's a good kid then you really don't have anything to worry about! If you havn't already, it might be a good idea to have a talk about the responsibilities of adulthood, just as a heads up so that he can't come back and say why didn't you tell me I could get into trouble for this.....the choices he makes are his, and he has to be accountable and take responsibility for those choices. Good or bad.
One more thing about the under aged girlfrind thing...the girl may be a willing participant in whatever activity may be happening, but if she gets hurt or prego, then sometimes the parents of the girl get involved or worse yet the county or state! Once they get involved, it's out of his hands. Educate him now, save him problems in the future.......

i am not really sure but as i know he won't be in trouble if he is around people under 18 at a party that includes drinking or other stuff, the ones under 18 will be in trouble! the problem may be if he sleeps with a girl under 16 (this is the law in my country, i don't know how is it there where you live) or 18, i don't know for sure!!!

Well, there are no laws about 18 + years olds hanging out with minors. So it's safe to have underaged friends. Girlfriends are a little sticky. If he does not have sex with them, it's ok. But it may come down to his word against hers. Or maybe she'll actually have to prove it. Either way, if he dates, he should be careful not to pick a psycho that'll cry wolf! Dang! taking care of kids is hard!

He can still hang around younger kids. The only time an issue would come up is if he decided to engage in sexual activity with a minor.
I am not sure what state you reside in but in order for him not to catch a case he would have to avoid sex with anyone younger than the age of legal consent for your state. Make sure he is aware of that because a disgruntle parent will attempt to press charges if he or she disapproves of the relationship. My brother lost 4 years because of this and now has to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Have a talk with your son about his responsibilities now that he is 18. He can certainly hang out with friends younger than him, but he should not be engaging in sexual activities with them! Also, if he is at a party where illegal activities are taking place, he should leave immediately. He can always offer to take with him anyone else who wants to leave.

A real bees nest here... He can hang out with kids he goes to school with... he can have a girlfriend who is close in age, but legally in most states, he can be convicted of statutory rape if he decides to have sex with her... it's really between the parents of the girl and you and your spouse... I suggest he treads lightly here... and plays it safe... also consider if he is around 16 and 17 year olds and they do something illegal... drinking or vandalism... he will be considered adult and charged accordingly !

he can hang out with them sure no problem, but once he becomes 18 he has differant laws covering him then. if he has sex with someone under 18 then can be considered statutory rape. but if have parents consent or already in a relationship with someone before turning 18 then courts would not really hear the case but legally he could be charged.

the law for satitory rape is if an adult has sex with someone younger than 18 they will go to prison.. and now your son is considered an adult.. so the same is for him.. thats the only way i think that he can get in trouble..
