I think you are confusing 'culture' with 'tradition'. Culture is a collective mindset of a people belonging to a time and place. The culture of teenagers of St.Xaviers mumbai, will not be the same as those in Patkar college, and may be the same as LSR, Delhi.
My point is that it changes with time, and with external influences. These influences could be western (as they have been for a long time).
India was a progressive technology-adopting culture in the 9th to 13th centuries AD. People came here to learn about the newest things in Life. Generations later people became degenerate, and protective of 'tradition' and 'identity'.
The best part of our urban youth is that they have their own independent identity - one that is comfortable with the 'free mind' of the west as well as the discipline of the east. And it is not cool to Jhaado english everywhere. It is cool to talk Punjaabi or Mumbaiyya Bhasha.

This often happens to cultures in America where they have just assimulated into Western Society and American culture.
I think when that happens it is a great loss to American society, as that's all American society is, a merging, or a Melting Pot, if you will.
But when the original culture is lost on the way, that is everybody's loss.
I think it is possible to merge into the whole without losing one's own culture and beliefs.

If you love your country and culture and and to preserve it, then nothing can make you forget your culture and go towards western culture.

i dont think so.Yeah it may seem like it u know the teens wearing weastern outfits and doing it in their style but think again, in their homes they keep the culture.Thats what most Indians do.
And look at bollywood outfits, its all a mixture of indian and western cloths. So u can say the present generation is living in the cradle of both cultures
