The last post has good links in general but both this posting and a previous posting refer you to download an ebook for 68 dollars and 78 dollars respectively (likely the authors posting or affilates taking a cut).

I'm sorry but you can get good SEO books with real publishers on Amazon or Barnes & Noble or Borders. The top sellers for SEO for Businesses are:

Search Engine Optimization an Hour a Day
SEO for Dummies
The ABC of SEO
Insider SEO and PPC

(all under 20 bucks because most are in paperback with reviews)

Go to the bookstore or order them from Amazon or Barnes and Noble online.

(P.S., as a general rule you should click on the the person who posted the answer and review their profile and click through their answers to see if they continually post the same links. This is a good indication they are driving traffic to their own site. And anyone with few postings is a clue as well.)

I've been studying SEO for three years now and I've learned several things:

(1). Content is King! Be sure your pages are loaded with words that are readable by the search engine spiders and are people-friendly.

(2). Update your content -- search engines like it when you constantly add new data.

(3). Inbound links from relevant pages. An inbound link counts as a "vote". The more important the voting page, the more important the search engines think your page is.

Good luck!

So here it is. Unlike popular thought on this matter, SEO is not rocket science. It is hard, and takes a lot of time, however, if you naturally provide a good website, with good content, and expose your site to get inbound links naturally, you will not only get good exposure, but you will stay clear from any search engine penalties. Other than that, you can always hire a good firm out there. Here are some good ones that offer full services and training:

www.seop.com
www.evisibility.com
www.bruceclay.com

all good firms. On top of this, i recommend this book by Aaron Wall: www.seobook.com. I have no affiliation with him at all, his book is one of the best out there.

I would recommend getting a good ebook that goes over all the topics at hand.

http://www.becomehated.com is probably the best out there. Do a search for reviews. It's $67 but In my opinion worth every cent. It will make you understand the whole process a lot better.
