Well, of course I am, to some degree. There are many different 'categories' of world events, and they each have different potential effect on our lives. Something like a war, or economic depression in our country again, would totally effect all of us. But on a much smaller scale, things still effect us, ultimately even if we don't see it at the time. There are people in leadership, or wanting to be, that are looking out to help mankind avoid some pitfalls, maybe learned about through historical means, or by concerns globally, about the future. Those people probably are a lot more concerned, than the average "Joe", because they are thinking along these lines.

My life directly, no. I am concerned what effects’ world events will have on the lives of people in general though.

For most of us that live in the US lets face it we are pretty insulated from most events directly affecting our daily lives with major impacts. There are exceptions but they are very rare and most likely impossible to foresee, so it is rather self absorbed in my opinion to think about how it will affect our lives instead of the lives that will feel the direct effect.
