wow 24 years is a long time. maybe she is going threw something diff. and cant talk to you about it. or a mid life crisis and she thinking about the past if you have done anything wrong. i dont know. She may need to see a therapist her chemical balance could be off and need on heavy medicine. have you talked to her about it. Talk to her and talk to a therapist.

I HATE TO SAY IT..JUST IN CASE START STASHING CASH IN A SAFE PLACE..SO IF YOU TWO HAVE TO PART AND END IN DIVORCE YOU HAVE MONEY SAVED THAT SHE WONT GET B/C NO ONE KNOWS YOU SAVED IT. IT HAS TO BE CASH AND NOT IN A BANK.

I WISH YOU THE BEST...I RATHER SEE A HAPPY ENDING. GOOD LUCK

Sometimes you guys just get on our last nerve. I have to admit that I found some humor in your question. I said the same thing to my husband of 23 yrs. He is my X now, but the funny thing is that he didn't have a clue as to why I said it eather. I think what she is saying is that she is unhappy and she thinks if your were gone she would be happier. The truth is, like me she probably is not happy with herself. Nothing you can do for her. She has to figure it out on her own. Lets hope she does not divorce you like I did to my husband, then find out thats not what she wanted after all. Frying pan into the fire. Some of us have to learn the hard way,

If you been married 24 years , you should know this person mood sways , what were the factors that cause her to make such a statement- with the little information given - give her time to cool off, sometime women/and men say hurtful things when up-set- not realise the damage they cause their mates, and sometime takes away from the spouse love toward them

Did you say or do something to really piss her off? If not, perhaps she is experiencing some type of personality change. If you've been truly happy for 24 years it would be odd for her to suddenly fall out of love with you and be so cruel. If this is totally against her nature, take her to a doctor and have her checked out.

She might have said it in the heat of the moment being angry, or she may have just held on to the idea of saving your marriage for longer than she can handle. People stay married far longer than they should sometimes for fear of leaving their comfort zone. Leaving what has become their everyday life. She may have just been mad but maybe she has been very unhappy for a long time and have just never noticed.

After 24 years most women feel this way. However most don't say it. She was having a bad day pay no attention. But you may want to start eating out.

There has to be more to the story that her saying this to you out of the blue... what happened... what did you do??? ask question again with more details and I'll give you the best answer!!!

For someone to wishes you dead and that they hate you speaks volumes... she must be close to being done with you... I would suggest you sit down with her immediately and get to the bottom of this and see what kind of damage control you need to do... I wish you luck... hope this helps!!!

Well obviously she has issues and you should just let her have her space. She most likely is going through some kind of mid life crisis and is taking it out on you. Could she be seeing someone else??? Let her take her tantrum and after she will realize that she made a mistake. Don't you go and do anything stupid over her either!

Honestly it sounds like menopause. If she keeps saying stuff like that suggest that she see her doctor. There are medicines that he can prescribe to ease the symptoms of menopause. Unless you did something horrible, if you've been happilly married for 24 years I'm sure it's something like that.

It looks like a lot of people think menopause is the reason. I can't imagine that there would be any excuse to talk to someone the way your wife talked to you.
How would she feel if you said something similar to her?
