What's amazing is your not knowing what his policies were, and thinking that Republicans would attack him. He was a Republican, and here are his domestic policies:
Lincoln's domestic policies included support for the Homestead Act. This act allowed poor people in the East to obtain land in the West. Also, Lincoln signed legislation entitled the National Banking Act which established a national currency and provided for the creation of a network of national banks. In addition, he signed tariff legislation that offered protection to American industry and signed a bill that chartered the first transcontinental railroad. Lincoln's foreign policy was geared toward preventing foreign intervention in the Civil War.

Now why would you think this wouldn't be supported by Republicans of today?
Also:
But as the war exacted its final bloody toll, the unthinkable became all too conceivable. Lincoln's Democratic opponents, even in New York, railed against the president's authoritarian ways and warned him he could meet the same end as Julius Caesar. The rage at Lincoln was, of course, especially violent in the South. Lincoln had won election in 1860 without one Southern state -- the Republican Party did not exist in the South. And by late 1864, with over a half million dead, newspapers in Richmond, capital of the Confederacy, openly discussed assassination as a way to rid themselves once and for all of a man they considered a tyrant, and pondered how vulnerable a target Lincoln would be on Inauguration Day.

So, no, he would not be mocked and attacked by Republicans, but by those who are reacting in the same way toward Bush as they did toward Lincoln. Democrats.

If he was still alive , he would have realized how big of a mistake he made by freeing the southern labor force . Seeing as how they want to take away everything that is sacred to the caucasion people , like changing Christmas into gwazi or kwanzaa or whatever the heck they call it .

I asked almost this same question last week. Lincoln was a Republican. Today, he would be a Democrat. Somewhere between his administration and that of Woodrow Wilson, things changed. I wish I knew I knew the answer, but I do not.

How in the WORLD did you ever come to THAT conclusion? Because he illegalized slavery? Please. He sure didn't do anything to limit the reach of racism, now did he? Besides, he was not against slavery.
Oh, and Lincoln did the right thing, even though it wasn't popular. Sound familiar?

Lincoln's GOP is such a far cry from today's GOP. Republicans should learn from him before they espouse his name. Teddy Roosevelt is another example they cite but never follow. Sad.
