Volunteer, your choice... food bank, meals on wheels, animal shelter, literacy program, library, suicide hotline, hospice program, the list goes on.... what ever catches your interest and abilities....even if you are homebound you can be of use to some group and make contact with others while you are at it. good luck, it's not easy to reach out at first.

There is no easy answer for that. The reason is u could be in a crowd full of people and still feel lonely. I suggest you find one good friend that u can really count on.Plus u should learn to be comfortable being by yourself and enjoying your own company. If your real young u might want to talk to your parents about this. Maybe get some counseling. If your ever need to talk just email me.Good luck

It is important that we are able to be comfortable with ourself when we are alone.
It is important that we have inter-dependent relationships.

Boredom is mild depression usually or maybe always caused by being fixed on something we want or need but can't have. If we don't really need the thing we are fixated on then we are neurotic.
If the group of people you are with don't share your interests or nurture you in some way then find other people. Life is too fascinating to waste it on them.

It is most likely that you know things to do. The internet, church, the park, YMCA. Probably you are hung up on something that keeps you from doing those things.

I would guess the best way is to join groups, either in your community, a bowling league, card group, etc. Also keep a positive attitude. Most people like associating with people who can bring them up -- not down. You might also want to think about volunteering in an area that is of interest to you. People sure appreciates others who can help out with their expertise!! Just go out and have fun!! Personally, I am never lonely--but, then, I like myself!! Happy New Year!! Dar S

Go to IHOP at 9 am on a Saturday morning to get a good glimpse of how much other people are 'enjoying' their families. No one talks, except to fuss at their unruly kids who are playing electronic devices and ignoring them.
