A person who is flighty, unreliable or impractical.

Talk to your boss. If he said then ask him why he feels this way. (He needs to apologize if he said it regardless of why). If he didn't say it or won't admit then don't worry about it.

Now, if this upsets you to the point where you feel the need for change then ask your closest friends and family (the people who know you the best) their opinion. Be careful though you might not like what you hear. Take any criticism and make a positive change.

A flake is an unrealiable, undependable person. They make plans and cancel last minute, show up late or not at all, probably don't even give a courtesy call or call way after the fact. Totally uncool, inconsiderate social etiquette. Lame. You make plans with them and it's never a sure thing. They drop the ball consistently. A flake in the workplace is the worst. A flake among your friends?--stop inviting them to stuff. They don't care anyway... They have a casual, totally irresponsible attitude that is mind boggling and pointless.

It means eccentric and oddball or geeky. It is rarely used in a positive way, but then, you know your employer. He/she could have meant that you are just a little eccentric. The best example I know is Phoebe from Friends: classic flake. It's not a terrible thing!

to be a flake means that you are wishy washy, a little on the strange side. not that you are bad just not dependable. when you tell someone you are going to do something and you don't and don't call. when you say you are going to be somewhere and your not and don't tell them. make plans all the time and but don't keep them and don't let anyone know.

A flake is someone that's not in touch with reality. You know the type; they act like there's a camera crew following them and filming every move and every comment. They aren't dependable or reliable. Not in touch with reality.

They can either mean that you aren't all there mentally or that you are one way one minute and another way the next minute, or situation, or story(that you would be telling) It basically means that you are not consistent in your opinions or behaviors. That is what they mean by flaky. It may not always be a terrible thing.

It usually means that you constantly follow someone around, and try to be like them for a certain reason. You start dressing talking all of that stuff. It is kind of like a poser, except you are copying a certain person.
