60 is the price for the starter kit....don't get that....i'm assuming you already have a headset and such from the premium xbox 360.
the highest price for 12 months of live is 50, but most stores have it for a little less (walmart and such). circuit city currently has it on sale for 40!!!!!! i believe you also get 10 percent off with a AAA discount if you have it. now i'm thinking about grabbing it :-) . You can also get codes from ebay for about 35, but I don't know about how trustworthy this is.
i haven't bought it yet b/c i know i'll become addicted, and I'll be way too busy for it. good luck and have fun!

Best Buy I know has "12 Month +1 Free Month" cards for $49.99, at least my store does, and has since 2006 when I got my Xbox 360.

well first off get the year subscrition it is the best deal it cost 59.99 but you get a free month also and trust me you will want it for a year u will love it have fun :)
