Do understand your value, control your emotions, communicate clearly with fact based information, always respect yourself some sleep there way to the top but when you know that you have what it takes you don't have to lower yourself to be advanced. Dress respectfully, don't wear gaudy jewelry or perfume. A good rule for skirts is when you sit if the skirt is mid thigh its a no-no for work. Being in Management myself I wear slacks and Polo's just like the men to show that we are the same and I am not focused on being a woman so much so, the focus is more on being a part of the sexless team. When you feel uncomfortable keep a journal of anytime that you feel mistreated, talk about it with trusted members of upper management and know that HR is your friend they can always mediate they are not necessary a tool for discipline. Understand that in 2006/2007 there is still a good ole boys/ glass ceiling club but it is not unbreakable, understanding human Psyche. and behavior people lean towards reflects of themselves, if you work hard and show true value, knowledge, and drive you will be seen, communicate brush up on your golf, and general sports so that in times when conversation shifts you can shoot the **** with the best of them. Who cares that you would rather be getting a pedicure, that's your personal passion, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." Remember to check your emotions men dont view things the same as women and the last thing you want is to be seen as the damesel in distress thats a wreck when problems arise.

Look professional at all times, dress for sucess. Never wear anything low cut or a short skirt. Good Luck Happy New Year too.

Dress for success, Do not follow advice about short skirts and low tops. Present yourself as a quite competent class act and you will go far. Come on as a brassy broad who can be had for $50.00 and you will crash and burn.

Next make sure you know what ever there is to know about your business.

DO dress and act professionally.
(there are some idiots inthe workplace and it will be very beneficial to be professional at all times)
DO NOT contribute to the rumor mill
(This will always lead to trouble internally and externally)

dont wear flat shoes or cheap perfume

you'll go a long way if you abide by those rules!!! lol
