I have tried so many foundations. I prefer a creme to powder, the problem is that I have to take it off then reapply it several times during the day. I would like a foundation that is for women of color that stays and do not streak. I do not want to look greasy all day either. Any suggestions?

I'm a beauty consultant for Merle Norman Cosmetics..and I have tried just about everything for a lasting foundation. Covergirl, Clinique, Revlon, Almay, etc. There are a few I haven't tried. Anyway, everything I tried was always greasy or rubbing off after a few hours or I needed more powder after a while or whatnot. I honestly think it's combination of your skincare products and your cosmetics. I kept trying skincare products and foundations and was unhappy with them until I started at Merle Norman..and I'm seriously not trying to sell the product here! =) I have oily skin and I use their "Clear Complexion" line of skincare products as well as the "Lasting Foundation". I LOVE THAT STUFF! It doesn't rub off on clothes and stays put, it's a creme that dries to a powdery finish, it comes in a ton of shades, has sunscreen in it, doesn't get greasy, and you don't have to reapply it. I will admit that over it I use Covergirl loose powder..because I'm 22 and I refuse to pay 24 bucks for loose MN powder..but I will pay 30 for the foundation since I'm a huge fan of it. Foundation primers are great too..and I'm in love with Smashbox Photo Finish.

I have used Revlon Colorstay (also wear a loose powder) since the day that stuff hit the market....it is oil free and stays on all day long.....and i play sports and get all sweaty, too.....it still looks good after.....oh yeah and when i was in college i was a theater major....i would use the colorstay instead of the stage makeup the director gave us....it worked better! and there have been times when for some stupid reason i decided to try a new foundation.....like the expensive kinds....and i always go back to the colorstay.....you can get it at the drug store or walmart......

You are as oily as I am. I have searched high and low end products and here is what I found out: Revlon Colorstay is the best in term of staying on your face the whole day. However, the color selection is all ashy and cheap looking. Remember that if you apply moisturizer under this foundation or any others, they would not last on you for long hours. The second one that has a better color selection is Prescriptives Flawless. This one stays on for approximately 9 hours, but gradually melts down. So far, I think Everyday Minerals in Intensive Formula has done the greatest job on me. The color selection is great and it stays on for the whole day. It is also soothing and balances my skin. Try everydayminerals.com. The company sends samples for free. Everyday Minerals stays on for more than 12 hours and when you rinse it, you feel you have a baby skin.

You can use a primer (philosophy makes "the present") that helps to keep the foundation in place. Also use a powder over your foundation to keep it looking fresh. I've never heard of anyone having to reapply makeup all day long....if you haven't tried pressed or loose powder to hold your foundation in place that might just do the trick.

I hope this helps! good luck!

Try Merle Norman's Luxiva Lasting Performance Foundation. It is not a cream to powder, but it does amazing things. It is liquid but quickly dries as if it were part of your skin. You have to try it to understand what I'm talking about. I never have to reapply and I sweat a lot.

I mix a moisturizer with my foundation so it isn't too heavy, and then I use a big brush to dust on powder to "set" the foundation for the day. Works like a dream.

Try Bare Minerals - their foundation is amazing and like nothing else. I never have to reapply and they have shades for women of color. I bought it first on QVC, but now a few salons are carrying it, too.
