Overall I would just like an opinion. Please don't think that I'm here to start an argument that can lead to anything harmful to anyone. If a debate does start...lets keep it clean and appropriate [no death threats]. I'm doing a research paper for school and it involves interviewing several people, this was the quickest and easiest way to interview many at the same time, so thank you for answering. Please just state what you think of the gay population [as well as bi and lesbian], if you want to add more thought to what someone else has said, please do so. If you have stories or experiences that you would like to share, i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks to all in advance.

P.S. please include an explanation for your thoughts on why is it that you support/oppose

Please elaborate on your opinion as to why you support/oppose gays, bis, and lesbians. [Thank you!]

Well, when I was younger I had no tolerance for gays. I made sure they knew I didn't approve of them in a multitude of harmless ways, i.e. namecalling, etc.
Now I'm forty and have lived life, I think a person's sexuality is his/her business. Judging someone based on their sexuality is stupid and asnine. Lots of gays or lesbians are tax-paying productive members of society.
It takes a lot of guts to proclaim to the world your sexuality, especially if you are gay. I have some gay friends and I treasure them just like anyone else.
What I don't approve of is them marching around on gay pride day or some horseshit like that. Kids of impressionable age shouldn't be exposed to that type of behavior. They will have plenty of time to decide for themselves.
Bottom line.......gays are just like anyone else.....they want to live the American dream without social interference.

Wow tough crowd, full of ignorant bigots.
Here's my stance on this issue, What people do behind closed doors is absolutely none of anybody Else's business. We in America have a twisted fascination with peoples private lives, and that includes celebrities, no matter what they do it always ends up on the front page of the enquirer, when it comes down to it whether your a Celebrity, Presidents, Joe Nobody, Gay, Lesbian, Bi or Trans gender your a regular person. Compare my tax forms to a heterosexual couple and I'm the same, compare my love life and my partner to a heterosexual then all of a sudden I'm different.
Under the Constitution everyone is granted their rights and freedoms as an American citizen, but due to christian conservative, and bigots are rights are pulled out right from under us. We are included as that government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

Since I have no place judging others, I really couldn't care less what people do behind closed doors. However, I get upset when people talk about their sexuality (this means straights/gays). You can do whatever you want, just don't tell me about it. I personally know quite a few gay/bi people, and they are great people. I don't want to live the way alot of people live, but I find they are still nice people in general. Example: drug users, people in religions, bungee jumpers, etc.

Other than whom they choose to love they are no different from any other members of the community.
And if this is your idea of an interview then interviews have certainly changed a lot since the last time I participated in one (which wasn't all that very long ago).

the government does good issues and terrible issues. issue of foodstuff and nutrition protection is likely one in each and every of the good factor. Get your priorities immediately. this isn't an occasion of tyranny nor corruption. Snap out of it. You and the the remainder of conservative human beings thoroughly assume and demand our government adjust nutrition protection for cleanliness, fairly contaminate unfastened and as much as a definite American universal. Now you pick for to quibble over what that fractional line could be? i'm by employing the way completely against smoking bans. the beginning up of NYC's new wellness universal. And yet i'm for top standards of nutrition. Our nutrition issue has no longer something to do with customer decision. It has to do with nutrition high quality.

Gay people eat, sleep, work, and contribute to the community like everyone else. What goes on in someone's home is their own business (within legal constructs). If we spent less time fight each other we would have more time to focus on progressing as a country.

Hmmm I didn't realize that I was being so carefully watched within the community. I raise my 2 teenage children with my partner, shop, work, pay taxes (more than most I imagine), go to the movies, ride the bus, possibly sitting beside some homophobic bigot and he/she doesn't even know, treat others with the same respect they show me and continue to have a happy and healthy relationship with my lesbian partner. I'm sure you wouldn't even know who I chose to sleep with if you saw me on the bus or in the mall and for those to whom this matters.. find something constructive to do with your time.

They have ALWAYS been a part of our community... Why can't we just mind our own business??? The rights we have established for ourselves goes for ALL PEOPLE... Not just the ones that we happen to agree with.... Persucuting people for their beliefs ( or preferences ) is wrong, no matter which side of the fence you are on... Aren't there enough problems in the world today without having to manufacture more hate right here at home ???

As long as it is legal, what people choose to do in the bedroom or who they choose to live with and love is not my business, or anyone else's. There are some things that it is truly objectionable for a person to be, but gay isn't one of them.

No special treatment or stance to be had. Please treat GLBTQs as people and afford them the same rights as Heterosexuals. If you don't like to see gay Public Displays of Affection then ban all PDAs.
Not 50 years ago the question would've been
what is your stance on coloureds as part of our community and daily life?
