it is just a spot , it just looks like his scales. It has no extra textures, could it just be his skin?

A giant white spot is NOT ick, ick looks like many grains of salt. Also, bettas don't often get ick. Almost 100% its a fungus. It either looks a little fuzzy or like dead skin or an ulcer or is growing right?

Bettas get fungus very often because people keep them in bowls (cold water) with no heater. A betta can survive this way the same as you could survive in 15 o C (below 72F) all the time but you'd be prone to getting sick, same is true for the betta. The bettas' ideal temp is around 24 o C (76F).

Raise the temp in the tank and use a aquarium fungicide, should cost less then $5.

He has Ich. You need to get Ich medicene from the fish store. I am pretty sure you just put a few drops of the medicene right into his bowl with him. But, of course read the directions before you do it and you should also talk to someone at the fish store too just to be sure. It can kill him if not treated.

Like the girl above me said, it could be ich. But is it a spot or is a fuzzy cottony kind? If so it could be a fungul infection go to this website.
