Collards for money
Black eye peas for cents
Pork for some reason, I guess it just goes good with the rest, and some cornbread!!!

We eat ham, blackeyed peas, and cabbage. Of course, there's more but we have to eat those. Also, I read that you do not eat chicken on New Year's Day because it will mean you will be "scratching" for food all year. I'd never heard that but thought it was funny.

Well growing up in PA (and part pennsylvaia dutch) we tend to always eat Pork & saurqraut for good luck etc. Then moving to TX we were told "y'all got to eat black eyed peas." so now we eat both LOL
