the ordinary oerson would not think that after all the clerk did not cause the person to win they just sold the ticket and did you know the store gets a big peice of money for selling the winning ticket let the store owner tip the person. Now me I would do so if it was my regular store. i bought the guy at the drive thru a 4 pack of vodka coolers when i won only $200.00 as he always makes a big deal of trying to give me a winning scratch off but I go there all the time for energy drinks and he is always happy when i win. It would be nice of the person but after taxes $5000,000 isn't much at all to me yeah but like I said hopefully the store owners will take care of the clerk as that is he should. Sorry have to go against this one in general also don't you know that when you win people start crawling out of the wood work everyplace frineds family all with their hand out if you give to every person soon you will have nothing. be happy for the person who won and sad at the same time becasue they are in for a time

my mom always tells me that if I ever won large money on any type of Lotto, it would not be long before I was broke, I said hey I have restraint, and can budget my money and buy certain toys only,
she said no not from that, but from you giving it to other people who really need it
and yes that is me
and yes I would give to the clerk I bought the ticket from, but do you know the store gets a lot of money when they have a winning ticket sold from it..does the owner give to the clerk too?

smile
good luck
HAPPY NEW YEAR

Your right bigtime that is horrible.Ya 10% is to go to the clerk .I actually thought that u had to n let me tell u if I was the store clerk I would sew and get more that way.Just to teach a lesson. My god how selfish my god I would have given money as well as a round trip ticket for the person and his or her wife n if they had kids.Man how I would sew, sew, sew.anyway have a great NEW YEAR bye 4 now.

If you bought a ticket and didn't win you wouldn't expect the store clerk to pay for the losing ticket would you. So why give them some of your winnings ?

Petunia, they just don't get it. You tip the guy because you JUST WON $500,000 and can afford to give the guy a $20 (at least). All of the people saying they wouldn't do it would be the same ones throwing money around when complete strangers are around, just to show off, but are too cheap to tip the poor clerk.

I wouldn't and couldn't. I already won something once and obviously tipped the store clerk who sold me the ticket.

Tip them for what? Doing their job?
Hell no. My money won the ticket. They had no part in picking the numbers or investing in the ticket. The money is all mine, besides, the store usually gets a perk from the state anyways.

I might give them something, but not ten percent maybe $100 tip, maybe I can not really say until it happens and I hope it does.
