If is passes through (0,0) and (4,2) then 2-0=2 and 4-0=4 so the slope is 2/4 which reduces to 1/2 so start at the origin and rise onzce and run twice to the right! Hope that helps!!!

POints are (0 0) (4 2)

Slope m = y2-y1 / x2-x1 = 2-0 / 4-0 =1/2

Why is no one using parenthesis? Have we all but forgotten about order of operations? The answers are correct, but should be written as:

(2-0)/(4-0)=2/4=1/2

For the record 2-0/4-0=2 not 1/2 PEMDAS

the line is : y = mx + b
it passes through (0,0) thus b = 0
it passes through (4,2) thus 2 = m*4 => m = 1/2
the line is y = 1/2*x

slope = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
here x1=0,y1=0, x2=4, y2=2

thus, slope=2/4=0.5

passing thro'(0,0) and (4,2)
y-y1/y2-y1=x-x1/x2-x1
=y-0/2-0=x-0/4-0
2x=4y or x-2y=0 is the equation
