I had a friend who was gay but was struggling because of it. He only hopes that if he keeps praying, God will forgive him. He represses it, and only goes out with girls but feels it's fake.

Sexuality isn't a choice, but what you do about it is.

Whether gays believe in god or not is the same as asking if straight people believe. Some do, some don't. When it comes to religion, people are free to choose what faith they want to follow and how they want to follow it. Sexual orientation has nothign to do with religious freedom.

Secondly, no where in the christian bible is there any prohibition against being gay. Yes there are passages that can be construed as saying being gay is not right but there are also passages that prohibit all kinds of other behaviours. In fact there are people who can use the bible to prove, to their satisfaction, that black people are inferior and should be enslaved. Oh, and for those who believe the bible says being gay is a sin, I trust you also do not wear clothing of mixed fabric or eat shell fish for those too are an abomination.

Fact is, the only word of god to be obeyed is in the ten commandments and not a single one of them prohibits same-gender relationships. All the rest of the so-called laws in the bible are actually the laws of man not of god so they do not constitute sin; merely things that violate the beliefs of a few people.

I also note that the 10 commandments say adultery is a sin and, as we all know, lots of straight people do that all the time; especially the ones who also put down being gay as a sin. Funny how selectively people choose to read the bible isn't it.

Yes we gays believe in God, and we're gay because God made us this way :-)

Best of luck and God Bless

There are many types of christian and all of them came from the same bloody book! so it depends on what part of the book you wish to read and believe in. Gays, lesbians and bi sexuals can believe in god, the bible is full of contradictions so what does it matter?!

Roman Catholics dont agree with Gays, but a Protestant does, and they are both of the same religion!!

at least gay people are honest about their sexuality.. most religious leaders i know claim to be straight, but end up molesting little boys.. it's better to be honest than to be a hypocrit.

if there really is a god, and if we believe that god really has all the powers that he apparently has, then we must assume that god invented gay people because he wanted them to exist.

if god didn't want homosexuality, he wouldn't have allowed it to happen.

for all you religious straight people who like to surf around here on the gay/bi section of this website, i think you should re-read the section of the bible that says that it is wrong to judge others..

worry about your own life and your own self.. let god be the one who judges others.. let gay people worry about their own life.. they don't need you trying to shove a bible down their throats..

You just won the
dumbies-question-of- end-of-the-year prize.

You have no idea on what God is, and even less on what being gay means. So, do yourself a big favour, save your silly questions for another day, okay?

Happy 2007 -- May God grant you all your heart's wishes, anyway.

This question does not deserve an intelligent response. Being gay does not negate belief in a Higher Power.

Only a very ignorant person would think being gay and believing in God are related. AZZhole fundamentalist are not the only people who believe in God, but they are the only people who disrespect God by being narrow minded!!!

I think to believe in God is really nothing to do of being gay or straight. You could believe in God and still be a gay or transsexual. One has nothing to do with the others. Because basically, God loves everyone, everyone. Sinners or saints, gay or straight.
