The "Big Bang" involves expansion from a Singularity; that is not quite the same thing as "from a single point". The mistake is thinking of the expansion as taking place into space. The popular analogy of the balloon tends to reinforce this, as people only ever see a balloon inflating into existing space. But according to the Big Bang idea, there is no space to expand into; space, time and matter all originate in the Singuarity, so there is no "centre" in sense that the Earth, London or a chocolate have centres.

If you prefer, YOU are the centre of the Universe - and me, and the most distant quasar yet seen.

That's the 1000000$ question. It does seem primitive to think that because everything is moving away from everything else, then everything used to originate from one singular point.

Stephen Hawkin's equations to explain that theory was proved by certain observations, and relied on some earlier work such as Edwin Hubble's. But it is, if anything, inconclusive.

Given the breadth of the issue, I believe it's still open for speculation and the amount of unknowns will keep it that way for yet a long time. I personally don't wholly agree with the theory of the Big Bang and think there's a more dynamic explanation behind it.

we've a image of the interior 80% of the universe, even nonetheless it incredibly is extremely in basic terms a thermal image. yet we are able to work out the midsection of the universe. this is how we are able to extremely seem into the previous. the clarification we are able to do it extremely is by employing finding on the midsection of the universe. regardless of you spot, you're finding into the previous, yet in basic terms by employing like a nanosecond. yet gentle travels at a definite speed, case in point, the gentle you spot from the solar is 9 minutes old. so which you're seeing the solar because it replaced into 9 minutes in the past. And it incredibly is an analogous with the midsection of the universe. We see the gentle from hundreds of thousands years in the past, for that reason, we are able to work out the universe hundreds of thousands of years in the past. additionally, i choose which you will look up the 'MultiVerse', it incredibly is extremely eye-catching. greater effectual yet, watch an episode of "during the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman", episode: "Is there extremely an side to the universe?". And confident, the universe is expandind, it extremely is defined in the multiverse concept. and additionally it is not countless. all of us be attentive to this, even nonetheless we gained't see the very limits. yet we are able to work out the outer side yet finding into the interior middle, eye-catching, isn't it? ~~~ additionally, before the super bang got here approximately, the universe replaced right into a spec, concerning the size of a marble. in elementary words, it exploded and more desirable, and took hundreds of thousands of years to type. yet, it continues to be increasing... nonetheless starting to be, getting greater.

Think of the analogy of the expanding balloon. Every point on the surface sees expansion in every direction.

Now deflate the balloon and it all goes back to a single point. (Well, my hypothetical balloon does)

Now shift all this thinking up by at least one dimension (more if you want to treat time as the fourth).

Well it derives from the first possible conversion of non-matter to matter, assuming you accept that the mass was so dense it literally exploded outward in all directions and expended (and is still so doing), then logically it derived from that single point.

It has been argued that the first point of matter derived from nothing more than vibration and the resonance at particularly unique wavelengths. (think of the opposite of glass breaking at a particular frequency)

But every question simply leads you to more!!

Best wishes with your search and happy new year

I dont think one single point explains it. Its just sooooo small we can only unterstand it as one single point. Really it just gets down to critical levels of occupying an extremly small space. The biggest question for me is, if the universe really is expanding, then wtf is it expanding into. Noone can answer that, they can only speculate. And dont say its expanding into nothing cos thats just crap. There is no nothing. there is just the unexplained.

To be honest, there is no real proof that the Universe is actually expanding

Nobody really knows the answer to your question. Some people say "God."
