People associate republicans with the rich. While this may be true for their main base, there is an ever growing class of republicans which i like to fondly call the Redneck Republican. You know, good old Jimmy Joe Noshirt who lives in that trailer court and drives that rusted out 1976 Ford pick up. The one with the shotgun rack in the back window and the confederate flag bumper sticker next to the Bush/Cheney 2004 one. The guys who support Bush because they consider war against anyone not white tough and cool, thus they see Bush invading Iraq as great and support him.
Not all republicans are rednecks, but a growing group of rednecks are republicans.

Most of the people support Bush are from teh southern states. Often these states have lower levels of education, higher teen pregnancy rates, and most do not attend college. Many are also extremely racist , as many haven't been exposed to other races.
(Kentucky, Tennessee, midwestern states). These people make up a large majority of the USA.
So yes most of these people who support him are either stupid or simply enjoying him in office because he is against abortion (religious reasons).
I am against abortion btw, but Bush sure hasn't slowed it down or stopped it , so why vote for him?

I do not support a single thing that Bush has done, but I think calling Bush supporters stupid lets them off the hook for all the terrible things he has done to this country. They are not stupid. They may not be paying attention, which is worse to me than being stupid. They may also be staunch conservatives who believe what he is doing is right. They are entitled to their opinion.

I'm not sure if they are stupid or just worried about losing the welfare Bush has been giving them in the form of huge tax cuts.
