Colby just shows how confused u are or perhaps CNN.
Still confusion is what democrats want as they fight Bush with no alternative policies.
Saddam was convicted in a IRAQI court the US was never going to hang him..

amazed........Assuming that u are the accident of birth of an act of procreation conducted in the last 20 years.
It is not unexpected that given the self-critical nature of the British-American "twisted system" you should have a culturally/politically self-centered view of the world.
In your next 30 years of life it can only be hoped that your understanding of events evolves.
Unless of course you are clear that you would rather be the citizen of a Stalinist, Marxist, Fascist, Chinese Communist, or even Islamic Fundamentalist system.
The military and economic power of the US British system has stood the test of time against many threats over 400 years arguably because it has allowed more individual liberty and debate than any other that opposed it.
So wishing u a happy new year (cultural inperialism the Chinese New Year is later)
and hoping that u find a more self-fullfilling life perspective in the future.
Amazement seems a sadly discolated life path to follow.

We can only 'know' what the media has been orchestrated to report. Confusion?
There is no way possible to 'know' truth, anymore . . .
Follow the path of the 'political dollar', then guess that what you're told - visually and in writing - is but a half-truth . . . voila . . . end of confusion.
Knowing the reported history of the US government, and it's roots in British soil, I can believe that US involvement (in any way) with the carrying out of this execution was just a continuation of our leaders' dutiful, megalomaniacal mentality, and behavior. It appears that our 'bosses' are the self appointed judges/enforcers of/for the weaker folks on this planet.
I continue to be ashamed (a citizen, by accident of birth) of this country's leadership, and twisted moral fibre. . .

Saddam's dead and buried, right? He got himself in that predicament. Now we can all wring our hands and decrie the state of the world today.

Hussein is guilty of war crimes against the US. However, with extradiction laws, it made sense that he was returned to the "scene of the crime" to accept his punishment.
