I'm based in the UK and looking to buy a Samsung E370 pink on Orange and get it unlocked if pos. Also, any ideas how much it's likely to cost to unlock it?

Unlocking a phone can cost you some more money than expected, you buy the phone try to unlock it and then at the end you'll eventually end up spending more money that you expected, I will recommend you go to http://www.ebay.com/ Type: Unlocked (phone brand and model) ... and I'm pretty sure you'll and up with a better deal than if you buy it locked, Trust me I've been thru this before.
Good Luck!

Yes, it can be unlocked between 10 and 20 quid, or try wheedling the unlock code out of customer support. Say you bought a foreign sim card from Orange when you were abroad (Czech works well) and it isn't working, and they should give you the unlock code. However it takes a lot of balls to pull that off (I actually DID buy a foreign SIM card!)

Its is possible to take it down to your local independent phone shop you should get it unlocked from there. Or take it down your local market hall, they usualy have a mobile phone stall there selling 2nd hand phones and they usually will unlock them for about a fiver.

Ebay is also a good bet you can get it unlocked for a couple of quid.
