all visitors need a Cuban visa or tourist card, which allows a stay of 30 days.
You can obtain it from the Cuban Consulate in Canada , it costs about $10

Michelle is right about the visa which can be gotten at the airport. It will depend on where you are flying from in Canada and where you are making the connection. Best not to go via Miami like I did. You will need the passport of course, and the visa is just like a tourist card like you get in Mexico.
