Saddam was a dictator for Iraqis. They are celebrating his hanging. But, Saddam had done nothing wrong with US. Why Americans are celebrating his death?

Do you find any solid reason?

People like to celebrate when a psycho killer gets their just desserts. It doesn't matter if the US were wrong. The fact of the matter (as far as Saddam is concerned) is that he killed many thousands of innocent people. If people want to celebrate that then I have no problem with it. It's not a political thing for me, just the end to a cruel murderer.

Hmmm...

First of, okay. We can say that Saddam Hussein COULD have not bothered Americans at all. (yeah, never threatened to take over the world or what not...{right}) But look at the charges put against him:

Crimes against humanity.

He was like Hitler. Treating other humans for pigs. If the US had not come in, we may be staring down at the Hitler!

About the US "celebrating" for his death, that is wrong. When anybody dies, even the "worst" people, it's ... sorta bad. It's potential lost... it could have BEEN something good. Also, it is never right to celebrate the death of a person. It is sick and wrong. I'm not saying that Hitler should have been mourned for and all. Just that you shouldn't break out wine glasses and cheers because someone was killed. I mean, is THAT how you treat the dead?

It depends on what you mean by celebrating. I am British. Saddam was a cruel and evil man and got better than he deserved, I will be celebrating the New Year not the hanging of Saddam. I am sure most Americans feel the same.
A quick not to llamedos, the final payment on the 4 billion borrowed after WW2 has been payed this week.

If you have found that Americans are celebrating his death you have only been looking at a small population. No one in the US has any understanding of a dictator and would ever see him as a great man but this nations people find no pleasure in his death.

What ever you do do not judge America by what you see on Yahoo answers. This in no way is representative of our nation.

And we most assuredly find no pleasure in all the deaths that have resulted in his overthrow.

You know as little of this country as we do of yours. And don't you think that is where the problem really is?

I don't see anyone parading a hanging doll down the streets here celebrating anything. I don't believe in the death penalty so I don't think Saddam should have been executed. But I can understand why some people are relieved and feel some kind of satisfaction. Afterall, Saddam wanted George H Bush dead at one time.

You are right in what you say .And i had thought about post a question like this one .But i feel that most people are to blinded by hate to see the wrong in this .America and Americans think that they can do anything .America declared war on the UK and no one hardly notice .And to rub it in our faces they have made a film about it .Call heart break ridge ..When they invaded the Island of Grenada in the West Indies .it was an act of war against the UK.Because is part of the Commonwealth .That means that Queen Elizabeth 11 is their queen to .So it would be the same as if they had invaded the isle of Wight .But the British government did nothing .I think that they have to bigger hold over us .And before anyone says no they haven't .Don't forget that the 4 billion we borrowed from them after ww2 has still not been re payed..God knows what that's worth at today's rates .And as a strange twist. The black soldier his medal for bravery recently .He was born in Grenada

What you have heard about Americans celebrating the hanging of Saddam is actually Iraqi-Americans who escaped from Saddam's torture and murder squads. And yes they are celebrating.

I couldn't care less about his hanging! he was a dictator for the Iraqis, not the U.S. I don't have a clue as to why us Americans are celebrating so much! maybe because President Bush thinks he's done something "Good" for our country!! WHATEVER!!!

I'm looking forward to celebrating the New Year, not a dictators hanging!!

No one is celebrating except people in his own country or Iraqi-Americans. You will have to ask them. We think it is just sad for everyone involved and get no pleasure from this. Please note the greater focus this weekend was on the passing of Gerald Ford not Hussein. That made me happy.

mainly due to the fact that their leadership under that shitkicker bush convinced most americans that hussein had a hand in the twin towers bombings on september 11th which has now been proved to be incorrect, it should have been bush dangling from a rope as well as saddam
