A friend will try to help out a friend. That's what friends do. AT the same time, you can only do so much. I have friends who are not visually impaired and I don't go out of my way to help them out. While it is amicable to assist your friends, it is not your job either to find them love. We are all looking for it and even after finding it we must sustain it. I would assume that you have your own personal issues to deal with on a daily basis, so your friend must fend for himself. we all have problems and need a hand or a shoulder upon which to lean, but a friend who is always needy because a ward. No one wants a friend who is always in need...that person is more like a child than a friend. I don't adopt my friends.
If your friend were unemployed and you knew of a job that were available, you'd inform him. It would still be up to him to send in a resume and go to the interview. All you can do is keep your eyes peeled for any opportunity that might arise.

More mature people realize looks aren't what it's about...I see physically unattracive people every day that are in relationships. Their partner's obviously looked deeper than the wrapping of the package.
If I had an unattracive friend that desired to date, and I knew of someone I thought would be a good match then I'd introduce them...sure...
