Because it reminds me of how on the previous New Year's Eve, I assured myself that things would be different and better in the New Year, and how I would find someone to fall in love with, and be happier, and have a better job...etc.
Then when 11:59 pm rolls around, I look back on the year and realize it wasn't any different than the year before, and it makes me sad.

There could be soooo many reasons! Sorry to see a good year go by, glad to see a bad year go by and looking for ward to the next year. Some people are just very emotional at the holidays, the only way to know for sure is to ask them!

Some people may cry because they may feel happy because they made it to a year they thought they would never see. If that is not it ask sumone that shows tears on new years.

Because they think about what happened in the past year and regret mistakes, miss those who have passed away, wish they could go back and re-do the year. Or because they're happy it's finally over and hopeful that the new year will bring them peace and happiness. Lots of reasons. Sometimes, they're just maudlin drunk.

people cry because a new year is coming...they get older ! lol! they hope the coming year is going to be fine and they wont have any problems or maybe in this year they forgot to tie up some loose ends..

they wish they were with their friends OR
their feet hurt from so much dancing OR
they kissed the wrong person at midnight OR
they know they'll have a horrible headache in a few hours OR
they know tax time is about to rear its ugly head OR
they just love to cry!!!

Because the past year is over, and maybe they regretted on something they could've done but didn't.. or life's moving too fast..
Or maybe it's just because they're happy, for a New Year is coming to start out fresh again. :)
