At least one month, but remember, you can always contract STD's such as AIDS and HIV by having unprotected sex. Be careful.

You are protected from pregnancy a week after starting your birth control pills. It should say that in the information packet that came with your pills. Take your pill the same time every day, don't skip any, and if you go on antibiotics use a condom or abstain for the whole time you are on them and a week afterwards because antibiotics alter the effectiveness of the pill. You ARE NOT protected from STDs or STIs though so make sure you and your partner have been tested recently, at least within the last 6 months.

It takes 2-3 months for your hormones to properly adjust to the birth control pill. Wait that long to have unprotected sex, and get tested with your partner if you havent already before stopping use of condoms.

Use protected sex all the time. But birth control pills usually start to work about a month of taking them.

Well there are no guarantees about anything. No guarantees that if you are married your partner won't cheat, no guarantee you will never get an STD. The ONLY guarantee is to have protected sex all the time.

It's your decision, but remember, once you have an STD your life is pretty well ruined and there are very few people who would be willing to have sex with you, unless they have an STD themselves.

Unless you are absolutely certain your partner has no STD and won't cheat on you, stay protected.

There are even "female" condoms for guys to use performing oral sex....funny but you don't see those anywhere....they are out there however and guys should use them.

Always use protection- it doesn't protect against STDs. If you are going to have unprotected sex and you know your partner is clean- wait a month.

AT LEAST 1MONTH-BUT BE CAREFUL BECAUSE ALTHOUGH THE PILL IS 98% SUCCESSFUL THAT'S ONLY IN IDEAL CIRCUMSTANCES...REMEMBER THAT ANTIBIOTICS OR EVEN STOMACHE FLU (DIARREAH OR VOMITING) REDUCE THE RISK) AND THAT THE PILL SHOULD BE TAKEN AT THE SAME TIME EACH DAY...HAVING A BACK UP IS REALLY A GOOD IDEA...OR AT LEAST MAKE SURE YOU KNOW ABOUT THE "PLAN B" IF THINGS GO WRONG - CAN BE BOUGHT AT THE PHARMACY OR AT AN STD CLINIC

Your personal physician is your best source of health information. Ask her. You can also ask your pharmacist where you buy your contraceptives. This isn't a good place to ask; too many ignorant adolescents spout their nonsense here for the site to be relied upon for health information.

NEVER STOP HAVING UNPROTECTED SEX, there are too many STD's. Always use condoms.

The only way the pill works for sure is when you keep it between your knees. Otherwise probably around 2 months.
