Opposite England, they have the time zone.. GMT. However the international date line is bent around so that nobody is crossing the line. by London time, GMT
10 am, Kiritimati on the Christmas Islands, enters year 2007 first
10 15 Chatham Island outside of New Zealand has a special time zone and seems to be the second place on earth to see the clocks go to year 2007
11 am New Zealand, Tonga and the South Pole base are among the next to go.
12 noon Parts of eastern Russia, Fiji and some Pacific islands
12 30, Norfolk Island - Australia
1 pm, Parts of eastern Australia and some pacific Islands
1.30, South Australia
2pm Queensland - Australia, a part of Russia and some islands far east in the Pacific
2.30 pm Northern Territory - Australia
3pm Now Japan and Korea enters year 2007
and as I write this, China, parts of South-East Asia
only that China will not officially start its Chinese new year untill the end of Feb...
Last tommorrow will be Samoa at 11 am.

The closest land west of the international dateline lies in NorthEastern Russia so the first town to greet New Years is Provideniya. СÑаÑÑливого Ðового года!
The closest east of it would be the Aleutian Islands (Attu Island to be specific) of Alaska.

The international date line goes through the Bearing Straight. So Russia would be first, and the USA would be last
