we can't change anyone. but we can try that we don't hurt anyone in any age. They will reap what they sow.

I have to agree with you in some ways because I worked with the elderly for many years. Often they get the sympathy of the nursing staff because they really don't remember doing "anything wrong" and no one comes to visit them. Why? Because when they had their right mind, they might have beaten their wives, or abused their children; or they said hurtful things to people. You just never know. But I can tell you if a person has any family, and they were good and loving, they will have visitors and people who care for them. The ones that don't, either have no family left, no friends left....or, they lived their lives selfishly as you stated.....
So what is the moral of this? "Love your neighbor (anyone you come in contact) as yourself", "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". If you want love and understanding in your old age, you better be sowing those seeds when you're going along you life's journey. In other words, "what goes around, comes around" and "Karma is a bi*tch!". Everything you give will come back to you...whether it be good or bad.
I think this was a very good question and will help a lot of people and make them do some serious thinking. Thanks for asking. Godloveya and Blessed New Year!

Well although this is not correct about everyone but it is. In young age due to physical and mental status (that is due to hormones) one is very much aggressive and fast he/she don't have time to stop for anybody or have passion to hear someone, youth feels a lots of energy inside which is if not utilized in good work that is wasted in anger, misbehave, etc. like things.
On the other hand in old age physical health is relatively down and people have a calm mind and with all of the past experience they learnt that there is no replacement for our people and feeling, now they have experience and time for people thus they want everybody to be with them. Another reason is that they are free of most of their responsibilities now and are free just waiting for others to hear and care them thus it seems they try to gather sympathy from society but actually they wants attention of society.

when young everybody is very sure of himself or herself, sometimes even arrogant that he or she can do anything in the world and sometimes takes things for granted, has a lot of ego etc. but when old ur age does not co-operate with u to do a lot of things that u wish to do and u become vulnerable, succeptible. u have lellowed with age and u want and gain sympathy,b'cos u know this is the best part of ur age to get it.
i feel that human beings always change as they grow old, and i suggest that change for the good is the best.

i feel u r asking this question because u have been thru this situation with ur relatives or parents ..for i can empathise with u...
when young my dad was a terror so as a little child and even in my youth i could not look him up and question him..but when he grew old i could not ask either because of his helplessnes due to his old age....... for when young if i back answered i was beaten and in his old age when i retaliated he wept thus gaining others sympathy and in the bargain making me look like a tyrant...........hmmmmmmmmmm irony of some peoples life...if u r in a similar situation be assured u have me for company.......
