Depending on which Version of the Playstaion 2 you own you may need to buy the network adaptor. You only need to get the Network adaptor for the Larger older PS2. (The models are 30 000 and 50 000 series). The Newer Slim line PS2 already have a Network adaptor built in. (70 000 series)
You next need a Ethernet cable from the Network Adaptor Port on the ps2 to a router that is connected to the internet, you can buy Ethernet cables from most good computer retailers, if you do not have one.
Next you need a PS2 game that can be played online, some games like FF11 (US and Japan only) and the Japanese FF7 Dirge of Cerberus require the older PS2, as it only supports the REQUIRED Hard disk component.
