I believe this to be true. If reality is the sum of our perceptions and perception can change over time, only through memory can we understand the nature of our reality.

Which is in the past...no reality is also modeled/taught in the present to be applied to the future. Reality "of" can be negative or positive one element changes when negative is involved....one can take off the word future if the past is covered up and never learned from. It's called spiritual death.

reality isn't a figment of your imagination. reality is defined as what is true in the physical and mental sense. It's like right and wrong.You know what you do or say is wrong but yet you still tend to question your action. Reality hold true to society and what you believe is true in your heart and mind.

I would not say memory. I'd say perception, and that can change in the blink of an eye.
