I normally have my taken out and steam cleaned but there have been times when I just used the Woolite carpet cleaner. I used it lighter than what you're supposed to, don't soak the carpet, let it dry and then it looks like new again.

I would call your nearest Dry cleaners and ask if they clean such things as Oriental Rugs, that would probably be the safest way to clean it without harming it or discoloring it.

I found this site that explains what to do... Depending on how dirty it you might want to clean it yourself or take it to a specialist... This site have differnent Rug Aid treatments like pet stains, Food spills and pet stool.....
