Are there any benefits to getting a widescreen one for normal use as in using ms office etc, and browsing internet. I am looking at a 19" size...

Great benefits to wide screen :
- view DVD movies in native 16:9 format
- full page view of 2 documents side by side
- better deigned to hande the new Vista user interface with the resident sidebar
- easy toolbar view & access for many programs such as photo & video editors
- screen space is used more efficiently than in 4:3 format
