Just remove IE7 and IE6 will be restored, it never really left.
To remove IE7 browser:
>left click 'Start'
>scroll to 'Settings'
>left click 'Control Panel'
>left click 'Add/Remove Programs'
>scroll down to and double left click on IE7
>it may ask you to repair or uninstall - ?
>reboot your machine
IE6 browser will now be restored.

Put your windows CD rom and try repair option. it will return everything in your OS including explorer and Media player to previous version.

click: start - setting - control panel - add or remove programs - find internet explorer 7 in list click remove, it will remove itself and you will get 6 back automatically.
