1. while they do not specify the illness displays symptoms similar to that of leprosy, it leaves horrid scarring over much of the body and is transfered by personal contact, Leprosy is the leading theory among most anime circles, but it may be different because it was only given to kaoru via sexual contact, and no one else around him has it.
2. yes that is when he dies but if you pay attention his scar is gone symbolizing that he finally attoned for all of his past sins and dies in complete peace at the end of a complete life
3. yes i did cry a bit, it is really sad lol
4 we *assume* that kenji and chizuru end up together but we can't know because reflections is the last time we ever see them, we do not know what happens afterwards but it is likely
5. we don't really know what happens to kaoru. i'd assume that she goes on living at the dojo supervising until ultimately she also dies of leprosy (?) that she *willingly* contracted from kenshin.
i hope that helps n.n
also if you want more info on kenshin look for the 'kenshin kaden' or kenshin encyclopedia in english, i've heard rumors it exists in english now and my friend claims that she saw it at borders (i have to try and find it). it's kind of a 'the art of rurouni kenhsin' thing but it explains alot of things, and gives alot of historical backround to the story in addition to providing a short comic that details what happens to all of the characters after the television series (NOT the OVA's) ends.

1. they never said. i don't think it's a real illness though.
2. he's dead, sadly.
3. i cried like a baby!! the last scene when he came home to kaoru, and when she saw that finally his scar has disappeared...i swear, you'd have to be a rock not to cry!!!
4. i suppose so. they're playing up how kenji looks like kenshin and how chizuru looks like kaoru and that means they'll be together.
5. she dies too, although it's not shown. if i remember right, before the kenshin chizuru scene they show two graves side by side. i'm assuming those are kenshin and kaoru's. kaoru had the same deadly disease as kenshin, which she got from him when they had sex in the movie. remember kenshin saying sorry before they did it? he knew what was gonna happen. so did kaoru, but she still begged for it because it was her way of showing devotion and love for kenshin. *sob!*
hope this helps.

ugh. i know how you feel. i watched it 3 times in one night (dang animax kept on repeating it). on new year's eve-new year to top it off. way to get someone suicidal.
1. the disease was never specified, though speculations range from tuberculosis to syphillis.
2. yes, he died. such a sad ending for a great warrior and a good man, but i think he'd prefer to die that way than die in battle.
3. er, crying wouldn't be the ideal way to start a new year, but i went into brooding mode for 2 days straight.
4. can't be sure, but it's a large possibility. since kenji and chizuru's scene signifies that ultimately life goes on - even after death.
5. i believe kaoru dies not long after kenshin's death. she had the same type of disease and her health was deteriorating quickly. after all, she hung on basically for kenshin.

i am sorry for the loss but kenshin does die. his sickness isn't explained but it was sexually transmitted to Kaoru. At the end he did die because his skin heals and his scars disappear. Kenshin tells Karou to call him his real name: Shinta. I almost cried because i hate the ends of such great shows. Kenji did leave with his girlfriend and then Karou dies with kenshin i believe. Hard to remember cause i haven't seen it in a long time but im 99% sure that is what happens.

Touko replaced into killed by using Kenshin--- they did not confirmed how did he killed his own spouse. interior the tale there is a scourge ailment affected Kenshin and Kaoru and that they the two died. undesirable ending... the good area of the tale is their toddler (Kenshin and Kauru) inherited the opposite part sword and had a female chum...

They never specified exactly what his illness was. But I assume it's something he caught while he was traveling around helping poor /sick people.
