I live in a flat and 1 of my radiator has stoped working. I have bleed it but only getting cold water out the radaitor. Its a combi that powers the system so when I bled the radiator the pressure droped so I toped up with water again 1/1-2 bar.Have notice that the feed pipe from the radiator in the next room which feeds the problem radiator gets cold about 600mm along the pipe work. Also have turned all radiators of in the flat but still no heat. What should I try next?

It's not an airlock, and unlikely to be a blockage. The first thing to check (it may sound stupid!) is to check that no one has turned the valve off. I suspect that you have thermostatic radiator valves on your radiators, if the valve isn't turned off take the head completely off the valve, simply unscrew it from the top of the valve (no need to drain anything down). You will see a pin that goes into the valve, carefully with a set of pliers, move the pin up and down, this should solve the problem.

Hope this helps.

You have an airlock in the pipe, not the radiator. Open the bleed valve on the cold radiator and let the water keep running until you get heat through the rad. This will take some time, so make sure you keep an eye on the water pressure while you do this.

sounds like a blockage either with an air lock or rubbish.
Right turn off both of that radiators taps, one is a tap the other possibly a thermo, but make sure both are off. Shut of Gas so it does not run. recharge water system to allow water into system and leave it on. Gently turn on the bleed valve on the radiator, some water should run out and then stop. Turn on ONE of the radiator valves gently and water will very quickly come out of bleed valve. Turn off valve shut bleed valve when water stops running, do the same with other valve, that Should clear the system. Now go back to the system charge valve and turn it off. restart boiler, the pressure relief valve may operate, but that only lets a little water out. See if the system now gets hot, it should!!!

Are they steam radiators? If so then the pressure release is blocked. Air needs to escape. There should be a valve on one side. There is a tiny hole on each valve about the size of a sewing needle. You can unscrew the valve and clean it out. There should also be a straw like tube extent ion on the inside of the valve (not all have them). Make sure it is not broken. When removing them make sure you recall which way the little tube was pointing either up or down. Screw them back into the radiator and you should be all set. You can also replace the valves. Any hardware store carrys them.

hiya,is there a drain plug on this radiator,if yes drain, think it may be blockage, have you bled all rads? know this sounds daft, but where the pipe is cold, get hammer, and tap with rubber end, along pipe where cold is,this sometimes moves sluge etc,try the same time as your bleeding if you have drain plug on rad, hope this helps

Sounds like your system needs flushing. You have a sludge build up in your pipes and they need to be cleared
