John Cornyn and Kay Bailey Hutchison. The latter is the senior senator. Both are Republicans and they love Bush - what a surprise!

It isn't too shocking that they both have a R by there name. Texas on the state and national levels leans very right. Local elections in many counties have Dem officials, but you find that this is due to a lot of old "Dixiecrats" who's politics are conservative, still vote Dem as they always have. My county is in this boat. All the local officials are Dems. But, if you look at their politics, they are truly Rep.
Cornyn is the junio senator, who was elected to the position in '02. He was the Texas Attorney General. He beat Ron Kirk, former Dallas mayor and Dem on that ballot.
KB Hutchingson has been around for sometime. She was, before this past election, the 5th ranking Rep. Senator. I have not checked, but I believe she may have moved up to the 4th position.
