One of the person is your best friend, the other is your lovemate, and the last is a poor old lady on the verge of death. Now your vehicle is small enough only to take one person at a time. What would you do to give this story a happy ending just like all the other fairy tales?! i get out of the car, give my keys to a friend and let him drive home with an old lady. i stay in the desert with my boyfriend. finally we have got a lot of time for each other. all days we walk through the sandy mountains we make love all the time and at nights we watch the stars together. after finding an oasis we decide to settle down then we have a baby girl and after two years a baby boy just like we always wanted to. we are happy till the end of our long lasting life. conclusion:my choice was correct, i didn't break a friendship, i didn't end my relationship, my choice didn't cost anyone's life and i created two fabulous children.

Life is more important than any other to save first.
first, if your friend, and your lovemate were truly your friend and your lovemate, then they too should understand where life is important. They are not in any serious situations from your story. You only think this lady is poor - what if she is not and remembers you.
But even more, I am a man of good and think of God. God will remember you.
The poor old lady goes first to the hospital. Return for your lovemate next and take him / her to shelter. Finally return for the friend - and if te lovemate and the friend do not understand and you loose them, they really never were your friend or lovemate at all.
Perhaps I'm hard but I have dealt with this before and I don't even drive a car.

well being thats its the desert I would probally be in a truck or jeep. If that was the case theres plenty of room in the back and front for all. Any automobile of todays standards would allow me to take 3 ppl farly easy. If not there always the hood, and the trunk! Ill find some way to get them all back home even if I have to tie the old lady to the top likke the granny on the Beverly Hillbillies!
