Homemade lye soap works on older stains.
You can probably find someone locally, or on the web.
Wet the stain and then rub the soap on both the front and back. roll it up and let it set overnight.
Use a scrub brush until the stain disappears. you may have to do this more than once.
I have "saved" all kinds of clothes from the rag bag by using this method. Especially, baby clothes that were stored waiting for the next one!

I use Dawn dish liquid sometimes it does not take everything out but it does most of the time. Squeeze some on the spot rub in real good and let it sit over night. Then wash as usual.

My husband works in the oil field and comes home with that terrible pipe dope all over him. It's good that you take a concern, because it can ruin your washer if you're not careful. I know this sounds rediculous, but you can get a storage bin or tub, put hot water in it from the bath tub, and use DAWN liquid dish soap. It's not harsh, won't ruin your appliances, and all you have to do is soak the clothes from the time he comes home, until you go to bed.

Just a thought in another direction. We have a local company called Paris cleaners where I can rent work cloths on a weekly basis it costs about 9.50 a week for six shirts and six pairs of pants they pick up my dirty cloths at th end of the week in a cloth bag witch they supply and drop off six fresh uniforms and a new bag. Also any ripped clothing gets repaired or replaced at no additional cost. Worth every penny just to not have to do laundry with greasy clothing.

I'd have a lot of luck with Shout. I also made sure my ex husbands clothes had extra starch in them because that helps the grease not stick. I used the Argo starch, have to mix it up, but it was worth it.
